The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform for the first time. The past year represented an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft continues to plan to engage players with compelling titles on its flagship service.
The Available Now Titles
A pair of titles currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
Starting January 13th, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of terror and combat."
Intriguing Niche Additions
However, the more modest titles arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, becomes available next week — and it merits a playthrough regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Well-Rounded Collection
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that justify the service alone. However, this batch of games are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — transforming them into perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
